First and foremost, having a physical presence near your kids will bring immeasurable joy on both sides. It's not just about being able to visit them more often or take them out on dates; it's also about being there whenever your child needs you. From having someone at hand when they need help with homework, or offering reassurance during their teenage years, having a parent physically present can be a great source of comfort and support for children. Moving closer to your children has practical benefits as well. With both parents present, family budgeting becomes easier as expenses such as utilities and groceries are shared between two households instead of one. Plus, there's less need for expensive long-distance communication costs; Skype calls and Facetime are still necessary but become less frequent as regular visits become more manageable financially. It's undeniable that moving affects everyone involved; family members don't always adapt quickly or easily when it comes to change. But it is important that parents explain the positives of such changes if they want their kids to understand why it must happen and accept this new reality better. Taking such an approach will show children that even though things may seem hard right now, there could be great rewards down the line.

But when done with care, understanding and empathy towards all family members; moving closer to your kids can be a successful transition for all parties involved. Both parents who took part in the decision - making process should set aside any differences they have and strive for unity so that everyone understands why this change is taking place.
